Samir Hamawe

Samir Hamawe serves as the Peer Education Programs Coordinator at California State University, Northridge, since November 2015, overseeing the development and implementation of evidence-based programming focused on gender violence, depression education, and eating disorder awareness. Prior to this role, Samir worked as a Guardian Scholars Student Services Specialist at Santa Monica College, where responsibilities included advising and mentoring foster youth and historically underserved college students, facilitating student success workshops, and conducting outreach. Samir's earlier experience includes roles as a Graduate Assistant in The Office of Student Involvement and Development at California State University, Northridge, and as an Instructional Aide at K&L Care Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Samir holds a Master’s Degree in College Counseling and Student Services and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge, along with an Associate's Degree in Psychology from Los Angeles Pierce College.
