María José Echeverría

María José Echeverría is an accomplished academic in the field of civil engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Faculty Lecturer at California State University-Sacramento. Echeverría earned a Doctor of Engineering Sciences in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2023, where a doctoral thesis was complemented by a role as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Scholar position at the University of California, Davis, as a recipient of the UC President's Postdoctoral Fellowship for 2024, and a Postdoctoral Associate role at the University of Colorado Boulder. Additionally, Echeverría worked as a Research Engineer Consultant for Haselton Baker Risk Group, developers of SP3, following a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from Escuela Politécnica Nacional, completed in 2016.
