John Velarde

John Velarde serves as the Environmental Affairs Program Manager at California Water Service, overseeing an extensive environmental compliance program for numerous drinking water systems across southern California. With a decade-long tenure at Arcadis, John Velarde focused on environmental compliance within significant capital improvement projects at the Port of Long Beach, including the Gerald Desmond Bridge Demolition and Replacement Projects. Prior experience includes roles as a Groundwater Researcher and GIS Specialist at Cal State Fullerton, and as a courier with FedEx. John Velarde holds a Master of Science in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from California State University, Fullerton, complemented by military service in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
