San Johal

San Johal has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Since 2023, they have been serving as the Chief People Officer at Calisen, overseeing the HR function. Prior to this, they operated their own consultancy, SJ Human Resources Consulting, starting in 2019. During this time, they also held a position as an Independent Member of the Board Remuneration & Nominations Committee at the Office for Students. From 2020 to 2023, Johal worked as the Chief People Officer at EDF Renewables UK, where they were responsible for HR, health and safety, and communications.

Earlier in their career, Johal held various HR roles, including Executive Director of Human Resources & OD at Highways England, Human Resources Director at id Verde UK - The Landscape Group, and Human Resources Manager at Npower and Homeserve Servowarm. San also had experience as an Interim HR Manager at Qatar Airways and as the Head of HR at duo Airways Ltd. Throughout their career, Johal has demonstrated a strong track record of leading and transforming HR functions, developing people strategies, and supporting organizational transitions and cultural transformations.

San Johal, FCIPD completed a BA Hons degree in Social & Political Studies with a 2:1 from The University of Sheffield from 1995 to 1998. From 1988 to 1995, San Johal attended Foxford School, although the degree name and field of study were not provided.
