Dr. Rick Brantner has extensive experience in all aspects of Emergency Medicine. He began his medical career at The George Washington University, where he obtained a physician assistant certificate and a bachelor of science degree. He later received a doctorate of medicine from the University of Colorado. He completed his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii and an Emergency Medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center at Ft. Lewis in Washington. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine and of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. His healthcare focus includes total quality improvement, EMS, and pulmonary medicine. He is the Chair of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission, and has been a practicing Emergency Medicine physician in Olympia, Washington, for more than 10 years. Dr. Brantner continues to be actively involved in resident training at Madigan Army Medical Center and the University of Washington. He has lectured and coordinated skill labs for ACEP on the national level and is on the faculty for several annual oral board review courses. Dr. Brantner served in Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom as an emergency physician and senior medical officer in Ramadi, Iraq.
