Wendy Fry

Wendy Fry is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in reporting and editing. Currently serving as a reporter at CalMatters since October 2022, Wendy has previously worked as a senior reporter at The San Diego Union-Tribune from September 2018 to October 2022, focusing on watchdog and accountability topics with an emphasis on Mexico and the border region. Additional roles include senior reporter, assignment editor, and field producer at NBC San Diego, as well as various positions at The San Diego Union-Tribune and KPBS. Wendy's journalism career began with an internship at The San Diego Union-Tribune and also includes experience in management at Claim Jumper Restaurants. Wendy holds a B.S. in Journalism from San Diego State University.
