Julie Donegan

Julie Donegan has a strong career background in the field of real estate investment. Julie is currently working as the Investment Director of Real Estate at CalSTRS, a position they have held since August 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Portfolio Manager at the same company from December 2019 to August 2023.

Before joining CalSTRS, Julie was a Senior Vice President at Franklin Templeton Investments from March 2010 to December 2019. Julie also worked as a Director at Perseus Realty Partners Real Estate Investors from June 2008 to August 2009 and as a Senior Vice President at Eastdil Secured from October 2004 to June 2008.

Julie's career began at CalPERS, where they held various roles. Julie started as a Staff Services Analyst in July 1998 and progressed to become an Assistant Investment Officer from 2001 to 2002, an Investment Officer I in 2002 to 2003, and finally an Investment Officer II until October 2004.

Julie Donegan (she/her) obtained a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Sacramento Campus in 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Professional Advancement Certificate in Oracle Database Management from California State University-Sacramento in 1998.
