Erik Bledsoe has a long and diverse professional experience. Erik started in 1995 as a Lecturer at the University of Tennessee, teaching classes in freshman composition, American literature, African American literature, southern literature, American culture, the 1950s, and web-based journalism and public relations. Erik published two books and several articles in academic journals. In 2003, Bledsoe took on the role of Technology Development Coordinator at East Tennessee State University and in 2004, they were the Director of Creative Communications at the University of Tennessee. In 2018, Bledsoe joined Whole Foods Market as a Technical Writer and Solutions Architect, working with a team of architects to design a greenfield data warehouse on AWS and developing training materials, tutorials, and end-user instructions for a variety of applications and AWS services. In 2020, Bledsoe joined Coder as a Technical Writer and Interim Head of Marketing, where they researched and wrote white papers, customer case studies, blog posts, video scripts, social media posts, and website copy and developed and maintained an editorial calendar, amongst other duties. Bledsoe is currently the Content Marketing Manager at Calyptia Inc., a role they have held since 2022. Erik also has a side hustle/hobby as Founder and Publisher at Scruffy City Press, LLC, which they have held since 2016.

Erik Bledsoe holds a Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University (1995), an M.A. in English from North Carolina State University (1990), and a B.A. in English from North Carolina State University (1987). Erik has also obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Associate (April 2020), Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner (January 2019), and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate (October 2019). Additionally, they have a Google Analytics certification from Google (October 2020).
