Project Lead at Technical Solutions

Rodney Wright, MSCYB, has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies.

Rodney started their career in 2004 as a Software Engineer/Network Security Intern at STARS Summer Research Program, where they developed and implemented a JAVA application for analyzing network security software log files.

In 2005, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships, collaborating on a team to develop a JAVA application for analyzing the geometry of data files.

From 2008 to 2009, Rodney worked as a Software Engineer at IP Systems International, LLC, where they developed and tested JAVA client-server applications and graphical user interfaces for geospatial modeling, simulation, analysis, and security solutions.

In 2009, they joined General Dynamics Information Technology as a Software Engineer, designing and implementing frontend graphical user interfaces and backend systems for rapid configuration and corrective action of workstation networking/system issues.

Rodney then moved to Alion Science and Technology, where they held various roles from 2009 to 2021. As a Software Engineer, they implemented 3D models and programmatic scripting solutions for Virtual Battle Space. Later, they became a Senior Software Engineer, designing and implementing a simulation of full motion video capabilities in Unity3D game. Finally, they served as a Technical Lead, liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects were completed to standard.

Currently, Rodney is working at HII Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, as a Project Lead. Their responsibilities include serving as a liaison between stakeholders and development team, developing methods to improve efficiencies within the team, and tracking sprint deliverables.

Throughout their career, Rodney has demonstrated strong technical and leadership skills, collaborating with teams, managing projects, and providing guidance and coaching to junior engineers.

Rodney Wright, MSCYB, obtained their Master of Science degree in CyberSecurity from Norfolk State University, where they studied from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the same institution from 2002 to 2007. Rodney also holds an Advanced High School Diploma in Computer Science/Mathematics, which they earned from the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts from 2000 to 2002.

In addition to their academic achievements, Rodney has also acquired several certifications. Rodney obtained their Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance in August 2021. In December 2012, they received certifications in CompTIA Linux+ and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA.
