Alexandru Botan is a highly experienced Sr. R&D Engineer at Cambi since April 2019, specializing in the design of new products for biomass thermal treatment, data-driven decision-making, predictive maintenance models, and process engineering tools. Prior to Cambi, Alexandru worked as a researcher at DTU Energy, focusing on Power-to-X plants and energy market optimization, and at the University of Oslo, contributing to research methodology and modeling of electro-diffusive transport. Alexandru's research career includes roles at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, where the modeling of lubrication in human joints was emphasized, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where multiscale models for gas/oil transport were developed. Academically, Alexandru holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry from Pierre and Marie Curie University, complemented by Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
