Ben Kornell has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Ben is currently serving as the Managing Partner of Common Sense Growth Fund at Common Sense Media. Prior to that, they have worked as a School Board Member for the San Carlos School District and was the Co-Founder and Podcast Host of Edtech Insiders. Ben also served as a Co-Founder and Advisor for Cambiar Education, an EdTech Venture Studio.

In 2021, Ben took on the role of Chief Growth Officer at Higher Ground Education, where they played a key role in acquiring Altitude Learning and expanding the Montessori Schools Network. Before that, they served as the President & CEO of Altitude Learning and AltSchool, where they focused on shifting educational models to be learner-centered. Additionally, they held the position of VP of Growth at Altitude Learning, overseeing the company's growth strategy.

Prior to their roles in the education sector, Ben worked as the Executive Director and COO at Envision Learning Partners. Ben also gained experience in the healthcare industry as a Regional Operations Director and Director of Strategic Business Development and Corporate Strategy at DaVita. Ben began their career as a Performance Management Analyst for the San Francisco Unified School District.

Ben Kornell has a comprehensive education history. Ben attended Columbus North High School for an unspecified period. Ben then went on to pursue their undergraduate studies at Harvard University from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained their AB degree in History and Literature with a minor in Spanish. Later, Ben attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2007 to 2009, earning an MBA. In the same period, they also pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Education from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education.
