Robert (Mike) Thorlin has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Robert (Mike) is currently the Director of Business Development and Sales for the US Army and Asia Pacific Region at Cambium Networks, where they focus on providing secure and reliable wireless broadband for tactical operations to the US Army and security forces in the region.

Prior to their current role, Robert served in the US Army (ARNG) from 2003 to 2023. During their time in the military, they held various positions including Infantry Officer, Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Detachment Commander, Company Commander, Aide De Camp, Joint Staff officer, BDE Executive Officer, and BDE S3. Robert (Mike) had two deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Robert also worked as a Bilateral Affairs Officer at the US Embassy Nur-Sultan Security Cooperation Office, where they developed and executed engagements with the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense to build partner nation capabilities. Robert (Mike) focused on managing the Border Security line of effort and was involved in counter-narcotics assistance, building partnership capacity programs, and foreign military sales/finance processes.

Before their military career, Robert worked as a Senior Strategy and Business Development Manager at General Dynamics, where they identified opportunities and strategic partnerships related to mission command and RF systems. Robert (Mike) also evaluated technology and innovation insertions to enhance the capabilities of warfighters.

Earlier in their career, Robert worked as a Systems Engineer at Personnel By PRO-STAFF and as an Avionics Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace.

Robert (Mike) Thorlin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona. Robert (Mike) also holds a Certificate in Systems Engineering from Arizona State University. Additionally, they have completed a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. Robert (Mike) has pursued further education in the field of Intelligence Operations at American Military University and Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering at Defense Acquisition University. Furthermore, they have a background in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Weber State University. Robert (Mike) has also attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
