Jon Plumb has a strong background in health, safety, wellbeing, and environment management. Jon started their career in 1999 as a Plant Mechanic at CITB, where they maintained and serviced construction machinery. Jon then became a Plant Mechanic Instructor, training apprentices and commercial delegates in plant maintenance. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor, providing support and advice on H&S compliance at the National Construction College. In 2016, they became the Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environment Manager at CITB, overseeing around 1400 staff members across 7 locations. Jon'smost recent role is as the Head of Property Compliance and Environment at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, where they ensure safe, healthy, sustainable, and compliant premises for colleagues globally.

Jon Plumb has a diploma in occupational health and safety from NEBOSH. Jon is also a Practitioner of environmental management and assessment (PIEMA) from the Institute of Environment and Management. Jon has earned a Level 5 Leadership & management certification from the Chartered Management Institute. Jon holds a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing from NEBOSH and a Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Management from NEBOSH as well. Jon has completed a course in Leading Sustainability from the University of Cambridge and is a member of Iosh. Jon has also obtained certifications in Noise risk assessment and management from the Institute of Acoustics. In addition to their education, Jon has earned certifications in various fields such as Building Presentations in Sway Windows 10 and Bridging Differences in Cross-cultural Communication from Skillsoft. Jon is also a Certified member of the Institute of workplace facilities management (IWFM) and holds the CMIOSH certification from IOSH. Jon is also a PIEMA certified member of IEMA.
