Keira Turner is currently serving as the Animal Model Technical Manager and Research Associate in the group of Dr. Albert Cardona at the University of Cambridge since October 2019, focusing on Drosophila animal models and ex-vivo electrophysiology rig setup. In addition, Keira tutors Functional Neuroanatomy at Cambridge Advance Online, facilitating learning in various neuroanatomy topics. Previously, Keira participated in the RisingWISE Leadership and Enterprise Course at the University of Oxford, aimed at supporting women in STEM leadership roles. Prior experience includes working as a Biological Research Technician at Imperial College London, managing ovarian cancer mouse models, and serving as an Anatomy Demonstrator at University College Dublin. Keira holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from University College Dublin, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in the same field. Key research skills include PCR, qPCR, RNA isolation, and bioinformatics.
