Alex is the Head of the European Pension Practice and the Regional Head of Germany. Based in the London office, Alex joined Cambridge Associates in 2014 and has more than 15 years of investment experience. Alex is responsible for Cambridge Associates’ work with pension fund and insurance clients across Europe.
Alex also holds the role of outsourced chief investment officer or lead investor for a number of European pension fund and insurance clients, advising on strategy, risk management, and asset allocation. He has vast experience in incorporating private and alternative investments into pension schemes’ strategies to make the journey towards their long-term funding targets more efficient.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Alex served as Director and Head of Manager Research in KPMG’s Investment advisory team in London. In this role, Alex led a number of large client relationships and was responsible for the strategic direction and scope of the investment advice delivered. Before joining KPMG, Alex worked at Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow and Allianz Group, one of the world’s largest insurers.
Alex has been a part-time teacher of Finance at the London School of Economics. He is a member of CFA Society UK’s structured learning committee and sits on the IR committee of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. Alex is a CFA Charterholder and received an MSc in Finance and Accounting from the London School of Economics and a BA from Portsmouth Business School.
