Simon Hallett

Head, Climate Strategy at Cambridge Associates

Simon is a Partner at Cambridge Associates and heads the European Endowment & Foundation Practice. He has more than 30 years investment experience spanning governance and policy setting, asset allocation and manager selection as well as the management of listed equity portfolios. Simon works with several large endowments and foundations, advising on their asset allocation, objectives and governance as well as the implementation of their portfolios. In his time at Cambridge Associates he has given strategic advice to a range of endowed institutions and sovereign wealth funds ranging in size from $75m to more than $100bn.

In addition to working with clients, Simon contributes to Cambridge Associates’ research effort and has co-authored reports on active currency management and reviewing the strategic case for investing in emerging markets.

Before Simon joined Cambridge Associates in 2005, he was head of European research and then head of the European equity team at Baring Asset Management. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager of Asian equities and deputy head of international investment at the fund management firm IAI International, managing equity assets for US public and corporate pension schemes. Simon has also worked as a portfolio manager for Scottish Widows and Schroders, and as Asian equity strategist for the Japanese investment bank Daiwa Securities.

Simon received an MSc in Finance from the London Business School and an MA in in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
