Ermes Toninelli

Ermes Toninelli's work experience includes various roles and positions in different companies. Ermes is currently a Principal Engineer in Optics and Photonics at Cambridge Consultants since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Huawei Technologies Research & Development (UK) Ltd, starting as an R&D Test Engineer in 2019 and progressing to become a Senior Test & Automation Engineer and then an R&D Senior Test Engineer. Between 2014 and 2018, they were a Researcher and Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow, working on various projects. Ermes also had a brief stint as a Visiting Researcher at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2017. Ermes Toninelli has experience in audio engineering and was an Audio Engineer at StickyStudy Chinese in 2012. Additionally, they worked at Tomar s.r.l. as a Prototyping Specialist and Purchasing Agent from 2010 to 2012. Ermes held the position of Campus Warden at Heriot Watt University from 2007 to 2010, and taught English as an English Language Teacher at Cambridge Young Learners in 2009. Lastly, they volunteered at the British Heart Foundation in 2005, assisting with the testing and sorting of donated electrical appliances.

Ermes Toninelli has a diverse education history. Ermes obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Glasgow from 2014 to 2018. In 2014 and 2015, they also pursued additional studies at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow in the Center for Doctoral Studies in Integrative Sensing and Measurement, specializing in Engineering. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2014, Ermes attended Northeast Normal University, focusing on Chinese Studies. In 2006 to 2010, they studied at Heriot-Watt University and received a Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Physics with a specialization in Nanoscience. Furthermore, Ermes Toninelli holds the certification in "The Fundamentals of Optics" from Zemax & Edmund Optics, obtained in 2022.
