Fred Hamlin

Fred Hamlin has a diverse work experience in the engineering and research fields. Fred worked at Cambridge Consultants from 2013 to present, starting as a Senior Engineer and progressing to become a Principal Engineer. In their roles, they led and coordinated large teams, managed multiple simultaneous projects, and ensured compliance with regulatory standards. Fred's skills in thermo-fluids, mechanics, software, and electronics enabled him to provide effective leadership in module and full system architecture. Prior to Cambridge Consultants, they worked at Durham University as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and a Research Assistant in the MEMS Group. Their accomplishments include improving the manufacturability of a microgripper product, designing and developing a mounting and handling system, and creating a prototype biomedical sensor. Overall, Fred's work experience demonstrates their expertise in engineering, problem-solving, and project management.

Fred Hamlin attended Clitheroe Royal Grammar School from 1996 to 2003. Fred then went on to study at Durham University, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in General Engineering from 2003 to 2007. Following their undergraduate studies, Fred pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering with a focus on Aerodynamics at Durham University from 2007 to 2012.
