Alfredo Canovas Martínez

Senior Stress/FEA Engineer at Cambridge Energy Partners

Alfredo Canovas Martínez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alfredo started their career in 1999 at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in the R&D Mechanical Engineering Department. Alfredo later joined Grupo ITP. Industria de Turbo Propulsores, SA as a Test Development Engineer, where they specialized in instrumentation and control of engine measurement processes.

In 2001, Alfredo moved to Airbus UK, where they served as a Stress Engineer for Wing Ribs on the Airbus A400M and as a Composite Structures Stress Engineer for the Horizontal Tail Plane on the Airbus A380.

Alfredo continued their career at Inbis/Assistem UK as a System Analyst Engineer, focusing on Wing Systems for the Airbus A400M. Alfredo conducted static and dynamic analysis, using FEM Nastran-Patran software.

Alfredo then transitioned to Airbus Group, where they held positions as a Composite Stress Engineer and a Lightweight Structures Engineer for Cargo Doors on the Airbus A400M. Alfredo demonstrated their expertise in stress analysis and composite materials during their time there.

From 2012 to 2016, Alfredo worked at Premium AEROTEC as a Lightweight Structures Engineer for various projects, including the PAX Floor Grid Crossbeams on the Airbus A350-1000. Alfredo also served as a Composite Structures Engineer for the Rear Pressure Bulkhead on the A350 and as a Mechanical Structure Analysis Engineer for the Rear Fuselage and Center Fuselage on the Airbus A400M.

Following this, Alfredo joined Airbus Helicopters, Inc. as a Composite Structures Engineer, focusing on Cowlings and Firewalls for the X4 (H160) helicopter. Alfredo was responsible for sizing, analysis, and development of lightweight composite and metal structures.

From 2017 to 2018, Alfredo worked at Navantia s.a. as a Stress Analyst and Development Engineer, primarily focused on submarine projects such as the S80 Plus. Alfredo also contributed to composite R&D projects and was involved in various aspects of stress analysis.

Most recently, Alfredo joined German Aeronautic Company as a Helicopter & VTOL Senior Stress & Development Engineer for composites. Alfredo worked on projects such as the MLG (Main Landing Gear) and rotor dynamics for the RT216. Alfredo also participated in the development of new composite FEM and concepts for the Center Hub and Rotor Ring on the Volocopter. Additionally, they were involved in the analysis of the NH90 Hinge Beam for AIRBUS HELICOPTERS DE using ANSYS & Hypermesh.

Alfredo's most recent role is as a Senior Stress/FEA Engineer at Cambridge Energy, where they utilize their skills and experience in stress analysis and finite element analysis.

Alfredo Canovas Martínez has a bachelor and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (SMME) from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), which they obtained from 1993 to 1999. During this time, they studied various subjects such as materials, structures, vibration, mechanisms, design, composites, FEM, dynamics, test, and simulation.

In 2015 to 2016, Alfredo obtained a certification as a Stock Market Expert from the Universitat d'Alacant.

In 2016 to 2017, they pursued an Expert's Degree in SOLID (Mechanical) Numerical Simulation in Engineering with ANSYS at the Universidad Politècnica de Madrid. This program focused on the fundamentals and application of the Finite Element Method in Mechanical Analysis.

In 2019, Alfredo attended the Delft University of Technology and studied Fatigue of Structures & Materials. Additionally, they pursued another course in the same year on Helicopter Performance, Stability, and Control, focusing on Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering.

Following these, from 2020 to 2021, Alfredo completed an Expert's Degree in FLUID (CFD) Numerical Simulation in Engineering with ANSYS-FLUENT at the Universidad Politècnica de Madrid. This degree focused on the fundamentals and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Continuing their education, in 2021, Alfredo pursued an EXPERT DEGREE IN NUMERICAL SIMULATION IN ENGINEERING WITH ANSYS DYNAMIC at the Universidad Politècnica de Madrid, with a field of study in Dynamic Analysis.

Alfredo also obtained several certifications outside of their formal education. These include English C1 (7th grade) European Language Level from Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in 2017, German Advanced 2 (6th grade) B2+ from Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in 2016, Patron de Embarcaciones de Recreo (Coastal Skipper) from Dirección General de Transportes, Costas y Puertos in 2016, and English C1.2 European Language Level from Universidad de Murcia in 2015.

Additionally, Alfredo obtained several certificates from edX, including Introduction to Graphene Science and Technology, Data Analysis: Take it to the MAX(), Introduction to Computational Thinking and Data Science, Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python, and Introduction to Project Management. The specific months and years of obtaining these certificates are not provided.
