Patricia Hearey

Director, Health Education at Camden County

Patricia Hearey worked as a Health Educator in the Peace Corps in Cameroon from February 1977 to August 1979. Patricia then worked as a Public Health Educator at the Madison Regional Health District from January 1980 to October 1985. From January 1988 to January 1990, they worked as a Public Health Educator at the Summit County Health Department. In January 1993, they became the Director of Prevention at the American Cancer Society in Philadelphia until August 1999. Patricia then joined Camden County as the Director of Health Education in August 1999. Most recently, they retired in February 2019.

Patricia Hearey started their education at Boston University from 1970 to 1974, where they completed their Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Health Education. Patricia then went on to pursue a Masters of Public Health at the University of Michigan School of Public Health from 1975 to 1976, specializing in Health Education and Behavioral Health Science. Patricia has also obtained additional certifications, including the Master Certified Health Specialist from CHEC in January 2018 and the MCHES certification in December 2017. Patricia also has certifications in Chronic Disease Self Management and Matter of Balance Falls Prevention, although the institutions and years of acquisition for these certifications are unknown.
