Shain MacLachlan

Shain MacLachlan has a diverse work experience, starting in 2004 at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. where they held the position of Supervisor in the Quality Assurance department, ensuring customer and regulatory compliance, food safety, and security. They then moved on to become a Senior Supervisor, overseeing all aspects of quality assurance for multiple operations.

In 2012, Shain joined Cameco Corporation as a Quality Specialist, managing the site's quality management system and leading improvement projects. They then advanced to the role of Manager, Operational Excellence, where they developed a plan to drive continuous improvement and engaged employees at all levels of the organization.

Shain also served as a Senior Project Manager, overseeing digital transformation projects and developing the company's digital roadmap. They later became the Program Manager for the AMPED UP Program, leading a portfolio of projects focused on digital and operational improvement in Cameco's Mining division. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Corporate Strategy and Effectiveness, responsible for developing and articulating the strategic plan and objectives necessary to achieve Cameco's growth targets.

Throughout their career, Shain has demonstrated expertise in quality assurance, process optimization, project management, and driving operational excellence.

Shain MacLachlan completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan between 1998 and 2004. In 2009 to 2011, Shain attended George Brown College and pursued a program on Supervisory Leadership. Later, between 2015 and 2017, Shain enrolled in a Leadership in Mining program at the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM). Additionally, Shain has obtained various certifications including Greenbelt Lean Champion from Lean Sensei International, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Juran Global, Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, and Value Methodology Associate from SAVE International.
