Carlo Simonelli has a diverse work experience, starting in 1978 when they worked as a Systems Manager at Ericsson's Italian branch FATME until February 1988. In March 1988, they joined the IT Department of Camera dei deputati as Head of Office, where they handled Central and PC Systems, Networks, and User Support. Additionally, they were a Member of the Area of Interest ICT in Parliaments at ICTWP of ECPRD from July 1989 to September 2011. In March 2016, Carlo Simonelli became an Honorary Member of ECPRD, having previously served as the ECPRD Coordinator of Area of Interest ICT in Parliaments.
Carlo Simonelli completed their education at two institutions. From 1963 to 1971, they attended Liceo Classico Torquato Tasso Roma, where they obtained their Maturità Classica degree with a focus on Liceo Classico. Later, from 1972 to 1977, they pursued their higher education at Sapienza Università di Roma, graduating with a Laurea cum laude in Physics with a specialization in electronics and cybernetics.
