Champika Gunawardena

Champika Gunawardena's work experience includes various finance roles. From 2019 to the present, they have been the Head of Finance - GSDC at Camms, overseeing financial operations. Prior to that, they were a Finance Manager at Camms from 2019 to 2022. Champika also worked as a Finance Manager at ONYX Hospitality Group in 2019. From 2016 to 2019, they held the position of Finance Manager at Maltras International (Pvt) Ltd, where they were responsible for management accounting, financial accounting, variance analysis, budgetary controls, and more. Before that, they worked as a Finance Manager at KDU Group from 2014 to 2016, overseeing finance operations and liaising with external auditors. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as an Auditor at RGIS - UK, conducting physical inventory counts and processing reports. Champika started their career as a Finance Executive at Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC from 2009 to 2011, handling accounts reconciliation and preparing reports. Prior to that, they worked as an Executive in the Finance Department at Citi from 2007 to 2009. Champika Gunawardena has a diverse education history. In 2012, they completed their ACMA CGMA degree in Accounting and Business/Management from CIMA. Champika then pursued a Master's degree in Accountancy & Finance from Birmingham City University between 2012 and 2014. In 2016, they became a full member of CPA Australia, specializing in Accounting. In 2011, Champika obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. Champika also has additional certifications such as Associate Member of The Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka and Associate Member of The Association of Business Executives. In terms of ongoing education, Champika is currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Champika has also obtained certifications in Business Analytics, Corporate Financial Statement Analysis, and Certified Analytics Professional from LinkedIn, and a Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA) certification from AICPA. The GCE O/L and A/L qualifications were obtained from Richmond College, although the specific details are unknown.
