Camp Yakety Yak is a social skills day camp supporting friendship development in children with special needs, AGES 5-21, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Our multi-disciplinary professional faculty provides 5 weeks of camp each summer with the support of local university and high school volunteers. Siblings and peer models are welcome in our "Reverse Inclusion"​ model! At Camp Yakety Yak, we provide specially-designed activities to address social, emotional, behavioral and communication skills with the support of a low camper to staff ratio. Staff use visuals and other strategies to help children focus their attention, wait their turn, engage in learning and conversation and ask for help when it is needed. All of these skills are needed for school, home and friendship success!
