Carlos Castro

Carlos Castro has a diverse range of work experience in the software development field. Carlos most recently worked at Campspot as a Senior Software Developer I, where they focused on decoupling monolithic applications, introducing microservices, and improving overall system performance. Carlos also trained new engineering hires, provided support for domain-related inquiries, and mentored a summer intern.

Prior to that, Carlos worked at ModivCare (formerly LogistiCare) as a Software Engineer II. In this role, they led the IVR/IVA Team, modernizing the back-end micro-service interface and improving system performance. Carlos was also an individual contributor on a project to create a cloud-based mobile app for managing non-emergency medical transportation services. Carlos provided software design, DevOps support, and back-end development for ModivCare's software ecosystem.

Before joining ModivCare, Carlos was a Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin. Carlos led projects to develop new features and increase functionality for a satellite ground control system. Carlos also provided cross-functional support across the enterprise and presented project proposals and updates to customers and stakeholders. Earlier in their time at Lockheed Martin, Carlos was a Software Engineer Associate, where they developed new features, performed bug fixes, and provided support to other engineers.

Carlos also has experience as a Technical Program Coordinator at Akamai Technologies, where they managed time and resources for multiple independent and collaborative projects. Carlos facilitated program meetings, sought project sponsors, and facilitated communication between teams. Additionally, Carlos worked as an Engineering Intern at Praxsoft Inc., where they provided technical support, tested and troubleshooted products and systems, and assisted with product installation and maintenance.

Carlos Castro attended University High School from 2009 to 2013 and obtained their High School Diploma with a specialization in International Baccalaureate (IB). Carlos then enrolled at the University of Central Florida from 2013 to 2017, where they acquired a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering. During their time at UCF, Carlos also participated in a Study Abroad Semester at Mälardalen University in 2016, focusing on Intelligent Systems and Learning Systems.
