Matthew Shafer

Matthew Shafer has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Matthew has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise in information technology, computer systems engineering, system administration, network testing, and maintenance and repair. From 2022 to the present, Matthew has been the Director of Information Technology at Camston Wrather, where they are responsible for implementing computer infrastructure and directing IT operations. Prior to this, they worked as a Computer Systems Engineer at Decision Sciences, providing backup services and performing recoveries. Matthew also served as a Senior System Administrator at Geocent, handling system integration and maintenance tasks. In addition, they have worked at SPAWAR, DXC Technology, HPE Continuity, and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in various technical roles. Matthew's early career includes positions as a Field Service Representative at Stiles Machinery, a Shipboard Electrician at Pacific Maritime Industries, and Departmental Supervisor and Work Group Supervisor in the US Navy, where they managed large teams and oversaw maintenance and repair operations.

Matthew Shafer has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from National University, which they obtained from 2012 to 2016. Matthew also has various certifications, including a certificate from the FAA Academy's 40042 RDVS program in 2000 and a Highschool Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Don Bosco Technical High School in 1997. Matthew also acquired several qualifications during their time in the US Navy, such as an NEC 1678 degree in Computer networking, TCP/IP, ATM, LAN, and PC software and hardware repair in 2002, an NEC 1429 degree in UHF and VHF portable radio systems in 1999, and a Naval Nuclear Power School degree in Advanced Electronics from the US Navy Nuclear Field ET "A" School in 1998. Additionally, they hold certifications as a VMware Certified Associate in Data Center Virtualization from VMware in 2014 and a CompTIA Security certification from CompTIA in 2014.
