Emily Mak has several years of work experience in various roles related to talent acquisition, human resources, and learning and development.

In 2019, they began their career as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator (Intern) at Intact, where they gained practical experience in recruiting and coordinating talent acquisition processes.

After that, Emily worked as a Learning Operations Coordinator at Scotiabank from April 2019 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and supporting learning programs and initiatives.

Following their time at Scotiabank, they joined DB Schenker as an HRIS Analyst in December 2020. In this position, they specialized in analyzing and managing HR information systems.

In 2021, Emily took a sabbatical from work from June to September.

After their sabbatical, Emily joined Plus Company in October 2021 as a Talent Administrator (Recruitment/L&D) and continued working there until December 2022. In this role, they were involved in recruitment and learning and development activities.

Most recently, starting in December 2022, Emily is working at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. as an Onboarding & Development Specialist.

Emily Mak completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in General studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga from 2013 to 2017. In 2018 and 2019, they pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resources Management at George Brown College.
