Jimmy Tom

Jimmy Tom has had a diverse and extensive work experience in information technology. Jimmy began their career at Cognos, where they managed IT operations, oversaw disaster recovery and business continuity, and implemented ITIL practices. Jimmy then moved on to Fanshawe College, where they held the position of Senior Manager and was responsible for network services, server administration, IT security, and IT forensics. After that, they worked at Alterna Savings as the Manager of IT Operations, where they focused on infrastructure design, deployment, and support. Jimmy then joined Ridley College as the Director of Technology, leading end-to-end IT services and implementing data analytics. Following this, they worked at Info-Tech Research Group as the Director of Research & Advisory, specializing in infrastructure, operations, security, privacy, risk, and compliance. Most recently, they have held the role of Assistant Vice President of Technology Reinsurance at Canada Life/Great-West LifeCo. In this position, they serve as the CIO of Canada Life Reinsurance, overseeing technology operations and strategy and driving business and technology strategy, cyber security, risk, governance, and data leadership.
