Russell Keenan

Russell Keenan has extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial science and risk management. Russell began their career at Aviva Life & Pensions (Ireland) Limited in 2002 as a Reinsurance & Business Actuary. After working in various roles at Aviva and Utmost Group, they joined Canada Life UK in 2017. At Canada Life, they held several important positions including Head of International Actuarial & Chief Risk Officer and Finance Director in the Wealth Management Division. Currently, they serve as the Managing Director of the Canada Life International Division. Prior to their industry career, Keenan was a Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast where they specialized in Actuarial Science & Risk Management. Throughout their career, they have consistently demonstrated expertise and leadership in the insurance and financial sectors.

Russell Keenan completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Combined Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics from Queen's University Belfast from 1994 to 1997. Russell then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science at Heriot-Watt University from 1997 to 1998, specializing in Actuarial Mathematics. Additionally, Russell Keenan holds several certifications including Chief Executive, Executive Director, Head of Actuarial Function, Appointed Actuary, and Chief Risk Officer, obtained from various institutions including the Central Bank of Ireland and the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.
