Dr. Nicole Mittmann, MSc, PhD

Chief Scientist and Vice-President, Evidence Standards at CADTH

Dr. Nicole Mittmann, MSc, PhD has an extensive work experience in the healthcare and research field. Dr. Nicole currently holds the position of Chief Scientist and Vice-President, Evidence Standards at CADTH since May 2019. In this role, they are responsible for driving corporate strategy, leading and overseeing scientific expertise, and managing the Scientific Advice Program and international outreach efforts.

Prior to joining CADTH, Dr. Mittmann served as the Chief Research Officer at Cancer Care Ontario from May 2015 to May 2019. During their tenure, they developed and implemented the organization's first strategic framework for research, focusing on the implementation of a Learning Health System to enhance population health and improve the quality and value of care for Ontarians.

Before their role at Cancer Care Ontario, Dr. Mittmann worked at Sunnybrook (Sunnybrook Research Institute) for over 14 years as the Executive Director of the Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics Research Centre. Dr. Nicole played a key role in leading health outcomes research initiatives during their time there.

Dr. Nicole Mittmann, MSc, PhD has a diverse education history. Dr. Nicole obtained their Master of Sciences degree and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. Dr. Nicole went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from the same university. Later, Dr. Mittmann completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre / University of Toronto. This fellowship was in collaboration with the Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology / Bayer Fellowship in Pharmacoeconomics.
