Christine Buccione

Associate Director, Quality Assurance at Canadian Blood Services

Christine Buccione has a diverse work experience in quality assurance and management processes. Christine started their career in 2000 as an Assembly Manufacturing Process Engineer at Abbott Point-of-Care, where they designed experiments and troubleshooted product performance issues. Christine then moved to Abbott Point of Care i-Stat in 2002 and held roles as a Senior Quality Engineer and a Lifetimes Stability and Reliability Engineer/Team Leader. In these roles, they provided quality assurance guidance, implemented stability programs, and coordinated a team. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at Canadian Blood Services as a Senior Designer, Quality Management Processes, responsible for defining and developing quality processes. Christine later became the Associate Director of Quality Management Processes and, in 2022, they took on the role of Associate Director of Quality Assurance, overseeing quality assurance activities and continuous process improvement.

Christine Buccione holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, which they obtained from 2007 to 2014. Christine also has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, which they completed between 1994 and 1999. In terms of additional certifications, Christine obtained the ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence from the ASQ - World Headquarters in June 2023.
