Ekpeno Ukut has a diverse work experience, starting in 2015 as the Founder and Executive Director of Purge Cancer International, an NGO focused on cancer prevention and management. In 2017, they founded the Kick Out Cancer Foundation. In 2021, they became a Progenitor at The Adams Project Africa. Ekpeno also worked as the Creative Director and Scriptwriter at Edge PLC from 2015 to 2023. Ekpeno served as the Head of Strategy Development at the Andino Foundation from February to September 2023. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Global and International Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia. In 2023, Ekpeno held various roles including President of the Afro-Caribbean Society of Northern British Columbia, Director At Large at the United Nations Association in Canada, and Communications Lead (Voluntary) at the Canadian Cancer Society. Ekpeno also served as the Chairperson of the Northern British Columbia Graduate Students' Society.

Ekpeno Ukut has a diverse education history, having pursued studies in various fields. From 2022 to 2024, they attended the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and obtained a Master's degree in International Studies with a specialization in International/Global Studies. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2016, Ekpeno studied at Ahmadu Bello University, where they completed a Master's degree in Development Communication. During the same period, they also earned an Active Citizen Community Development Certificate from the British Council and Ahmadu Bello University, focusing on Community Development. Ekpeno's earlier academic endeavors involved a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theatre and Performing Arts, which they obtained from Ahmadu Bello University between 2008 and 2012.
