Stephen O’Reilly

As Executive Director, Federal Relations, Stephen O’Reilly is responsible for providing strategic leadership in CIHI’s relations with the federal government. Working with individuals at all levels within CIHI, he also has a lead role in coordinating CIHI’s activities with other pan-Canadian health care organizations.

With more than 25 years of experience in the health sector, Steve has extensive knowledge of health information and health information systems. His previous portfolio at CIHI included a leadership role with the Digital Strategy and Integrated eReporting branch. Prior to joining CIHI, he served as chief executive officer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information. He did foundational work with the Newfoundland and Labrador Health System Information Task Force and was an early proponent of the electronic health record.
