Vik Srivastava currently serves as the Director General at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research since February 2022. Prior to this role, Vik held the position of Director General & Chief of Staff at the Department of National Defence from October 2019 to February 2022. Vik's extensive experience includes serving as Senior Director at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and various roles at Health Canada, such as Director, Senior Business Manager, and Assessment Officer, spanning from November 2004 to September 2018. Earlier in Vik's career, a position as Developer in Network Management Systems was held at Nortel Networks from May 2000 to September 2001. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Computational Biology and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Computer Science/Computational Biology from McGill University, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, a Certificate of Professional Development from the University of Ottawa's CIO Institute, and a Diploma in Educational Leadership and Administration from the Canada School of Public Service, completed in September 2023.
