Gonzalo Alcalde

Gonzalo Alcalde is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in transportation and highway engineering. Currently serving as Director General at Red de Carreteras de Occidente, an Abertis company, since November 2025, Gonzalo has held various leadership roles, including President of A4 Holding from December 2019 to November 2025, and CEO of Metropistas from July 2011 to September 2019. Prior to these positions, Gonzalo was General Manager at Autopista Vasco Aragonesa Concesionaria Española SA from August 1992 to June 2011, and began the professional career as an Engineer in railway projects at INECO from January 1991 to June 1992. Gonzalo Alcalde earned a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation and Highway Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, between 1984 and 1990.
