Stephen Urquhart is a Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, where since January 2000, leadership of a research group focused on x-ray absorption spectroscopy and its application to nano structured materials has been a key responsibility. Additionally, Stephen teaches junior and senior level chemistry courses and engages in the university's academic governance. In parallel, Stephen has been a user at Canadian Light Source Inc. from 2000 to present and served as President of the Association of the Chemical Profession of Saskatchewan from May 2012 to June 2018. Prior experience includes a Research Associate position at North Carolina State University from 1997 to 1999 and graduate studies at McMaster University from 1992 to 1997, culminating in a PhD in Chemistry under the supervision of Adam Hitchcock. Stephen also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Physics from McMaster University.
