Clare Bradley-Smyth

Manager, Business Affairs at Canadian Media Producers Association

Clare brings guidance and business affairs management after years of industry experience in production, programming, legal, and business affairs.

With a background in production, moving from production assistant to associate producer, combined with years in broadcasting in programming, licensing, and contract management, Clare’s knowledge of the industry helps producers of all levels with business affairs inquiries.

Prior to joining the CMPA, Clare was a contract manager at Corus Entertainment. Clare’s responsibilities included reviewing, drafting, and executing legal agreements including broadcast licenses, rights agreements, and production agreements. They also worked in programming for YTV, Treehouse, and Discovery Kids. Before moving to broadcasting, Clare worked for Canadian independent production companies such as Breakthrough Entertainment and Sullivan Entertainment and worked on service productions across Canada. They have produced short films, a docu-series, and the internationally distributed documentary “A Drag King Extravaganza”.

During her last year at Corus Entertainment, Clare served as National Chair of OUT at Corus.

Clare is a graduate of Confederation College’s film and television broadcasting, and has certificates in children’s writing from George Brown and lighting and directing from The Vancouver Film School.
