Don Eckford

Don Eckford is an experienced exploitation engineer currently supporting SAGD pad development at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since April 2022. Prior to CNRL, Don worked at Devon Energy for over 16 years in various roles, including Development Lead, where responsibilities encompassed leading green and brownfield SAGD projects from opportunity identification to sanction. Don's expertise includes resource characterization, production forecasting, project management, and regulatory application preparation. Earlier experience includes positions as a Production Engineer at Northrock Resources and Numac Energy, where oversight of well operations, capital projects, and production maximization were key responsibilities. Don holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, earned between 1987 and 1991.
