Karlene Read

Karlene Read is an experienced exploitation engineer with a strong background in the petroleum industry. Currently working at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since April 2022, Karlene specializes in the Montney Gordondale/Progress area. Prior roles include senior area engineer at Bonavista Energy Corporation from October 2014 to January 2022, with previous positions focusing on development engineering and exploitation in various regions, including Pelican Lake and the Deep Basin. Early career experience includes roles at Shell Oil Company and Suncor, along with a position as a sour gas plant operator at Pengrowth Energy Corporation. Karlene holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Project Management Certification from the University of Calgary. Education also includes a diploma in Petroleum Engineering from NAIT.
