Principal Scientist, Process And Modeling at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories

Nirmal Gnanapragasam, PhD., P.Eng. began their career at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in 2007 as a Post-Doctoral Researcher, focusing on technology evaluation and sustainability analysis. Nirmal then moved to Atomic Energy of Canada Limited in 2010, where they worked as an Intermediate Scientist specializing in process design and technology development. In 2015, they transitioned to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories as a Senior Scientist, later advancing to the role of Principal Scientist, leading in clean energy technology development, strategy, and business development.

Nirmal Gnanapragasam, PhD., P.Eng. holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (1996-2000), a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University (2000-2003), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick (2003-2007). In 2016, they obtained a Fellowship in Nuclear Leadership from the World Nuclear University.
