Janey Llewellin

Janey Llewellin is a seasoned media relations professional with extensive experience in journalism and communication. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Media Relations at the Canadian Red Cross since October 2025, Janey previously held various roles at MaRS Discovery District, including Manager and Senior Associate in Media Relations from January 2022 to October 2025. Earlier positions include Assignment Editor at CP24 from March 2019 to January 2022, and Assignment Producer and Field Producer at CBC/Radio-Canada from May 2016 to March 2019. Between 2007 and 2015, Janey was News Assignment Manager at CTV News, contributing to the network's top-rated broadcasts. Janey's commitment to media education is evidenced by work as a Media Trainer in Liberia and Ghana with Journalists for Human Rights, focusing on human rights issues and training local reporters. Janey holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto.
