James MacTavish

James MacTavish is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in investor education and marketing. Currently serving as a Committee Member for the Investor Education Committee at the Canadian Securities Administrators and as a Senior Communications Advisor at the Alberta Securities Commission since May 2019, James has extensive expertise in the field. Previously, James worked at AppDirect from 2011 to December 2018, holding roles such as Senior Marketing & Communications Manager and Head of Marketing & Communications for the IoT Division, where responsibilities included extending the AppDirect platform to various connected device markets. Prior experiences also include leading marketing and communications for NeoSystems Inc. from January 2014 to November 2016, a subsidiary of AppDirect recognized for its CRM solutions. James holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Calgary, awarded in 2010.
