John Cherian

John Cherian is a seasoned banking professional with extensive experience in corporate and energy lending. Since April 2018, John serves as the Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking, Loan Syndications & Agency at Canadian Western Bank, where there is a national mandate to lead activities in the Canadian syndicated loan market. Prior to this role, John held positions at HSBC Bank Canada from August 2013 to April 2018, including Assistant Vice President for Corporate Lending in Energy Large Corporates and Private Equity Sponsors. John's career also includes a tenure at Scotiabank from May 1994 to August 2013 as Director of Commercial Banking. Educationally, John holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business, a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Finance and Marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International and Development Economics, all from the University of Alberta.
