David Baldacchino has over 30 years of work experience in the field of engineering and operations management. David started their career as an Engineer technician at Alyn and Deeside District Council in 1986, where they gained expertise in surveying and design. David then joined Mouchel Consulting Limited as a Graduate Engineer in 1988, working on various highways design projects. In 1996, they became an Engineer at Mouchel Consulting Ltd, where they played a key role in the development of innovative design and construct contracts for highways works. In 2000, they joined British Waterways as a Senior Project Engineer, responsible for managing infrastructure repair and renewal projects. David later became an Operations Manager, overseeing the delivery of canal projects, including the construction of the Millennium Ribble Link and the refurbishment of Hayhurst Swing Bridge. Since 2009, David has been working at Canal & River Trust, initially as a Waterway Manager and currently as the Head of Operations Support. In their current role, they lead a large team and is responsible for promoting, maintaining, and developing canals in the northwest. David focuses on raising awareness, organizing promotional events, and engaging with policy makers and the public. David's work experience demonstrates their strong leadership skills and expertise in infrastructure management.
David Baldacchino attended Sheffield Hallam University from 1984 to 1988. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with a focus on Civil Engineering.
