Peter Walker has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Peter started their career at O Rourke Civil Engineering as a Temporary Works Coordinator in 2002. Peter then moved on to British Waterways in 2003, where they held the roles of Asset and Programme Manager and later became the Engineering Manager - South East. At British Waterways, they were responsible for risk management of historic infrastructure assets and managed a team of inspectors and engineers. In 2012, they joined Canal & River Trust as the Regional Engineer South and later became the National Infrastructure Services Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Technical Support at Canal & River Trust.
Peter Walker attended Park View Community School in Chester-le-Street from 1978 to 1985. During this time, they studied Geography, Mathematics, and Physics at the A Level. Following their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Bradford from 1985 to 1989, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
