Dr. Athira Varghese has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical field. Dr. Athira started their career as a Clinical Pharmacist at BVVs S. Nijalingappa Medical in August 2017. Dr. Athira then worked as a Clinic Administrator at Healthline Clinic from August 2016 to December 2018. In 2018, they joined Ernakulam District Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist and worked until January 2019. Dr. Athira then served as a Project Support Officer at the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland from June 2019 to December 2019. In 2020, they worked as a Pharmacy Assistant at Chempro Chemists from October 2020 to January 2021. Dr. Athira continued their work as a Pharmacy Assistant at Chemist Warehouse starting from March 2021. Dr. Athira also worked as a Program Officer at PFLAG Australia from January 2021 to January 2022. Currently, they are working as a Project Coordinator at Cancer Council Australia since April 2022.

Dr. Athira Varghese pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with their completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD degree in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy from Rajeev Gandhi College in India. Dr. Athira attended this college from 2012 to 2018. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Health from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in Australia, which they completed between 2019 and 2021.
