Advisor at Cancer IQ

Christopher Bun, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the field of computational genomics and software engineering. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Graduate Research Assistant and Adjunct Lecturer at Loyola University Chicago, where they developed algorithms and methods to compare whole genomes, scripts to access online sequence databases, and a host-blind primer database system. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Chicago. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Researcher and Graduate Research Assistant at Argonne National Laboratory, where they built tools and systems for computational genomics, focusing on genome assembly algorithms and novel compute infrastructures and architectures for hardware acceleration. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Principal Engineer at Cancer IQ, where they led the engineering team to develop a secure, robust, and HIPAA compliant platform for medical data aggregation and analysis. In 2017, they began working as an Advisor at Kirkland & Ellis.
