Patrick Shannon

Project Management & CMC at Cancer Prevention Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Patrick Shannon received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from MIT in 1978. His professional career has spanned 25 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, and he has been responsible for numerous IND/CTXs, NDA/BLAs, and MAAs. He was a group leader at Dupont in a program developing monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases before his career became focused on oncology research and development while a project manager at Triton Biosciences. Subsequently, he founded the department of technology transfer at AIS and corporate project management at Matrix Pharmaceutical before moving to San Antonio to head project management at Ilex Pharmaceutical, where he successfully led the Campath NDA team. During his term at Ilex, Dr. Shannon took on the additional responsibilities for the departments of CMC, clinical trial management, and pharmacology/toxicology. At OSI Pharmaceutical, Dr. Shannon accepted the challenge of leading the oncology project management department while assuming the role of the project manager for the Tarceva NDA team.
