Kat Thompson is a Strategic Science Engagement Specialist at Cancer Research UK since October 2017, leading the science content strategy for the More Research, Less Cancer philanthropy campaign. With a strong background in philanthropy communications, Kat has previously served as Philanthropy Content Specialist, Senior Writer, and Principal Gift Writer, focusing on creating tailored, impactful materials for high-value prospects and donors. Prior to joining Cancer Research UK, Kat worked as a Medical Writer at Havas Life Medicom and began a PhD in Immunology at Imperial College London, where a comprehensive educational foundation was established with degrees in Biology and Molecular Biology. Kat's expertise lies in aligning scientific narratives with philanthropic goals to drive support for cancer research.
