Rich Brody

Rich Brody has extensive experience in engineering and software development. Rich is currently the Senior Vice President of Global Innovation and Development Engineering at Candela Medical, where they lead the company's global teams in research, product development, and engineering. Rich is responsible for managing international R&D centers and outsourced product research and development activities.

Prior to their current role, Brody served as the Vice President of Engineering at Candela Medical, where they were responsible for strategic deliverables within the global engineering teams. Rich provided budgetary oversight and led the organization in best practices and compliance.

Before joining Candela Medical, Brody held the position of Senior Director of Engineering at Waters Corporation, where they managed and led the development of instrument control software worldwide. Rich was responsible for all aspects of development and maintenance of LC and MS instrument products.

Brody also has experience in the medical device industry, having worked at Medtronic as a Software Engineering Manager and Software Architect. Rich managed the development of a medical imaging device used in navigated spinal surgery.

Earlier in their career, Brody worked at companies like Goodrich Aerospace, Juniper Networks, Agilent Technologies, CC1, Cincinnati Milacron, and SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GmbH, where they held various roles in software engineering and technical management.

Throughout their career, Brody has demonstrated expertise in architectural design, implementation, and release of real-time embedded software. Rich has worked on projects involving telecommunications, robotics, image processing, and analytical instrumentation. Brody has a strong background in structured design techniques and coding languages such as C, C++, and Assembler.

Rich Brody has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In 2018, they pursued executive education at Babson College. Rich also obtained an Executive Certificate of Entrepreneurial Leadership in Organizational Leadership from Babson College, which they completed in 2022. Additionally, they hold a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from ScrumAlliance, which they obtained in May 2013.
